Answers to developer questions.

What is the Mediatrix SDK?

The new Mediatrix SDK is now available for Mediatrix 3000 and 4000 VoIP gateways, enabling customization of analog or digital connectivity in low or medium density solutions.

The Mediatrix SDK is a package providing APIs that enable the customization of the firmware running on the Mediatrix 3000 and 4000. The APIs allow the integration of custom services on the Mediatrix platform and provide configuration/control access to the platform’s carrier-grade VoIP SIP solution (DGW 2.0 application).

The provided VoIP module offers built-in support for SRTP, SRTCP, SDES, MIKEY and SIP over TLS.

This Mediatrix SDK package includes:

  • The Linux development environment;
  • The Firmware Pack of Media5 VoIP software binary.

Installing the SDK on a Mediatrix platform allows SSH access from which the Media5 VoIP application can be configured, started and terminated. The Media5 VoIP application can also receive commands through a communication “pipe” that allows control/configuration from other custom services loaded on the platform.

The development environment makes it possible to create innovative services that run on the Mediatrix platform. Some examples:

  • Creating a service to offer custom MIBs or to serve custom configuration web pages. This service would configure the Media5 VoIP application according to the web/MIBs settings;
  • Creating a service to add an IP-PBX to the platform, along with its custom configuration interface;

Use the Mediatrix SDK to complement or enhance the Mediatrix platform and the Media5 VoIP modules. Let your creativity loose and engineer innovative features leading your organization to successful projects!
